[An interview candidate talks about soil hydrology] We had an interview candidate in today and she gave a talk about soil hydrology. It was fine. However, I must admit I didn't get all of the math. She mentioned that one could use a neutron probe to measure the moisture content of a soil sample. I've no idea what one is, but it sounds pretty damn cool. The box on the bottom, zapping the mound and verifying that it is, indeed, mud is a Neutron Probe 5000. I added a few quick touches of color, since I figured the mud pile should at least look muddy.
It's been a while since I've put a drawing up here. But since the server's been mostly out of commission since hurricane Katrina, there's not much I can do. images/Drawings/Sketches/marisa.png
