[Jumbo Donut Robot Love (Mark I)] I went to Skaneateles, NY (at the top of the lake of the same name) with some friends for a mini-fest they have there involving people dressed like various characters from Dickens' Christmas Carol as well as general period clothing. Besides Doug's Fish Fry, one of the highlights of the trip was going to the little bakery there. Earlier, we had noticed a donut making machine, visible from the front window, labeled "Donut Robot, Mark II" clearly doing its duty. At some point later, after walking around in the cold, Sue commented that it was time for some "donut robot love." And we had donuts, and it was good. However, it got me to thinking about whatever happened to the Donut Robot Mark I and why it needed to be retired. I think it didn't take much analysis to realize it must have grown weary of serving its human overlords and attempted to overthrow them in some violent, donut-oriented way.

And thus was born today's sketch. After drawing it (quickly) I realized that it would be better if there were two scruffy refugees in the foreground, with one holding a donut and saying to the other, "But you've got to admit, they are quite tastey." Oh well. Just imagine I added that. images/Drawings/Sketches/donut.png
