[criminals beware] More details on the idea tomorrow. But I've had this sort of idea for a while. Of course, I'm not the only one, and in fact this image is based off of one I found on the web.

But anyway, this was sketched on paper, to get a feel for it, then sketched in photoshop, inked in Illustrator, and then colored back in Photoshop. So it is all digital. I also re-learned how the pen tool and bezier curves work in Illustrator. I'm finally getting a little better sense of things and how to get the curves to match the lines I sketched freehand in photoshop.

Drawing the batman logo was a bit tricky, since I'm not that good at straight lines, smooth curves, graphic art, and symmetric drawings. I used the grid in photoshop to give me a sense of where the points were supposed to line up. And then using the pen tool, I could get the basic lines to be straight or curved. I draw half the logo, copied and flipped it, and then merged it, in order to get a good symmetric image. The curves aren't perfect, but it's a good start, and I didn't want to take too much time for something that was going to be in the background.
