[Round up the usual [bear] suspects] A hiker was killed (and eaten) by a bear in Denali. Sad news, to be sure. News reports say that multiple bears were seen around the scene, park rangers fired shots and missed and then came back the next day and shot and killed a bear from a helicopter, and then declared that to be the lethal bear. That's all well and good, but it made me wonder how they knew that the convicted bear was the right one. Then it got me thinking about how they might round up "the usual [bear] suspects" and do some sort of Park Ranger Police Line-up. And that led me to thinking of other famous bears. And it kind of took off on its own from there.

Originally, I was thinking it would take too long to actually draw all the cartoon bears, and I'd need reference pictures to make them look decent. Timothy had the brilliant suggestion that there's no reason why I couldn't just cut-and-paste the reference images directly into Photoshop and go from there. After all, what is the Internet if not a medium to steal copyrighted work? And thus this didn't take anywhere near as long as I had thought.

The final bit that was kind of accidental, but fits perfectly with the idea, is that I didn't intentionally place Fozzie and Baloo so they were stepping on the feet of the real grizzly, but that's just perfect. They would do it completely unintentionally, the bear would react as one would imagine, and then get in trouble because of that. Huzzah for sloppiness!

Also, I learned about drop-shadows in Photoshop. They are extremely easy. Apologies if it looks like cheesy modern animation. images/Drawings/Sketches/bears.png
