["Today's fish is trout. Enjoy your meal."] More experiments with cooking and photography. I roasted some chopped sweet potato, onion, and corn, with lime and cilantro. Then baked a rainbow trout fillet. Added some steamed broccoli, and garnished wtih jiama with chipotle, cilantro, and lime. And a bit of salsa (from a jar).

For the picture, I used the 18-85mm lens, because I wanted to see how sharp of a picture it could take. This was taken at f/10, 1/125 sec. at 45mm (67mm for a 35mm camera). I did some experiments with the flash, pointing it behind me, to the side, at an angle, and straight up. I believe this one was straight up. It was a little dark, and I had to lighten it up a bit in Lightroom, but not all that much (much less than Lightroom wanted to up the brightness). But things are generally nicely illuminated and there aren't specular reflections, which was present in the forward facing picture. A full-size picture is here. In general, it's not bad, but it's not super, super sharp. But I'm also not using a prime lens. It was a fun experiment, and a good dinner. images/Photos/trout-sm.jpg
