[Warning: Caution when using new Pressure Sensitive Lightning Pen of Might around puny electrical equipment] The fools! They laughed at me. Laughed at me! But now, now we'll see how is laughing. Whose pen is mightier now! Mwaa haa haa haa haaa!!!!

OK, I finally got the damn Wacom Intuos 4 pen tablet to work again after Windows 10 updated itself and broke things and then fucking bragged about how lucky I was that it did that without me asking, withing doing anything better, and only slowing down my machine and breaking things. I spent about a month, off and on, trying to get it to work. Finally, I just re-installed the latest Wacom driver (which was one of the first things I did, that only made things worse), which made things way worse, as Windows popped up a message every few seconds informing me that it couldn't find the Wacom driver (I had noticed that after the 10th time it told me). After a few minutes it finally managed to boot up enough so that I could try again (re-re-install it). And this time, even though I didn't do anything differently, it worked.

I wanted to draw something with someone laughing in (semi-evil) triumph. I used a few online pictures for models of how things look when the head is tilted back. Then I wanted to play with some shading, since that was I had been playing with when it broke. Specifically, I wanted some ominous lighting from below (again, I used a online references, and also used a flashlight and a mirror in my bathroom). Finally, since I don't like putting in backgrounds, I decided that some lightning might be nice and could provide the notional light source. I usd an online tutorial for drawing them in Illustrator which worked pretty easily. The energy "source" or whatever the ball up top is, was the trickiest part to make it have an interesting shape.

It's not perfect, but it wasn't too hard to do and gets at the basic idea I was going for. Also, the title is one extra space away from "The Penis" which also amuses me. While much could be read into this, I was just thinking of the Saturday Night Live Jeopardy skit where a category was similarly named and similarly mispronounced. images/Drawings/Sketches/pen.png
