[a simple but effective combination] I made red lentil dal tonight, since it's quick and easy to make. The downside is it's a little boring. I had made some roasted vegetables last night, so I added them as a garnish (broccoli, eggplant, and onion), and it added a nice texture and flavor that complimented the dal. And I've cleaned up almost everything, took a picture, and uploaded it and I still have 30 minutes until a Zoom meeting. Huzzah!

Oh, I wound up taking a few pictures. I realized I needed the flash so things would look sharper, but the wide angle lends shadows part of the light from the built-in flash. So I pulled out the externally mounted one. I wasn't sure about the batteries but it fired up right away. I took one shot with indirect/bounce lighting that I didn't like, then this one (which wound up taking two because I held the shutter down an instant too long). I was using the diffuser, but other than that, I didn't set anything, it just worked. Again, huzzah! I did a little cropping for style in Lightroom.
