["you...probably want to use some hand sanitizer after touching that dish"] This started like a month ago, maybe longer and was supposed to be a quick cartoon. A couple of friends had mentioned about how they were "all out of fucks" when it came to dealing with various bullshit. One of them gave that as advice having reached 40 a few years ago at another friend's 40th birthday. I liked that idea. I wanted to run with it. And then I got busy with a few things. I took a trip and have a bunch of pictures I want to post. I'm trying to learn a new software system and brush up on a programming language I learned 30 years ago. And this languished. And I'm consuming all the memory and CPU on my laptop with other things.

I really wanted to put in some shading but alas, I don't have the time to do it now. I wanted to add texture to the speaker's hair. Still no time in the near future. Shadows to the dress. Nope. I decided to put the multicolored background in early on to make it less boring visually. That was good because I never would have gotten to it. What about the legs and feet of the speaker? I never did them. I wasn't initially planning to crop it but then I realized it kind of made sense since that wasn't important to the picture.

I will admit that at first I couldn't draw the clerk's hands—they were terrible. So I took a picture of my hands holding my tablet and then I sketched over it with the pen (bezier curves) in Illustrator and then shrunk them to fit. Visually, they're probably one of the better elements of the picture. I like the look of the cash register's LCD screen (and no, the numbers don't mean anything and aren't a reference to The Simpsons). The hands might look a little too well proportioned given how kind of sloppy everything else is, but that does seem to be the theme of this one.

I showed a version of this to a friend uninvolved in these events a few weeks back who basically mocked it, saying, "ha ha ha [very funny]" in a kind of surprisingly rude and sarcastic way. Fortunately, I checked my fuck jar, and I too am all out of fucks to give on this.

It might not be the best, but it's OK and it's done. Here's the fullsize version.
