[Uh...what rhymes with orange?] In a recent Zoom meeting, one of the participants was wearing a bright orange headscarf. The combination of the vivid color, the folds in the fabirc, the shape of the contours as it folded around her head, neck, and shoulders, and the contrast with a disconected face hovering in this sea of orange looked really cool and intriguing. I drew a quick sketch (live, no screen capture). Afterwards, I decided to add the scarf's color, since it was such an essential element. The skin tone was in the neighborhood, but I mostly picked it as a contrast and because it wasn't too light or too dark. When I scanned the drawing in and then selected the lines, Photoshop picked up some white at the border of the black lines. I probably should have taken another approach, and I wasn't in the mood to take the time to clean it up or leave it just as a black and white drawing. Similarly, I figured adding shadows on the folds would push this beyond the "quick sketch" category as well. Since this is a Sketch of the Day section and it really is a sketch, I figured doing something quick was good enough. images/Drawings/Sketches/headscarf.png
