[Next, I might try drawing "The Picard Maneuver"] Friends of mine got engaged recently and had a party to celebrate it. It was low key, but fun hanging out, meeting some people and playing the "how many common friends do we have" game. I got a simple card and wanted to put some drawing in it. I looked at rings, and got some images on The One Ring (not really appropriate), a wrestling ring (funny, but not appropriate and would take too long to draw), and other unrelated things. Then I thought of one of Captain Picard's favorite phrases (or words) from the Star Trek: The Next Generation series. I found a YouTube video of collections of people saying that word and picked one that I liked. I drew it in pencil and then inked it and was concerned that it didn't really look like Patrick Stewart's character. But in for a penny, in for a pound. And similarly, it wasn't great while I was inking it. But at the end, I think, while not super, I think it's recognizable, which is essentially my goal. It's a geeky, nerdy reference, but that's kind of my wheelhouse. I scanned in the image on the card before taking it to the party. The background was blue on the card. images/Drawings/Sketches/engage.png
