["I say, I could use a footstool. Now where did that scallywag of a butler go off to now?"] My sister and I took a tour of the Edgewater Mansion in Barrytown, NY. We were near Bard College and I had never been there before and my sister wanted to use a bathroom, so we took a quick tour of some of the facilities. The Blithewood Mansion (and that is a great, snobby, British-ish name) is "the main researh and conference facility of The Levy Economics Institute" at Bard. We didn't go in, so I don't know what it looks like from the inside, but it's quite impressive from the outside. I'm not sure what the deal is with the sort of Grecian urns on the roof, but I guess it's got something to do with the "beaux arts" style. We walked around the area and the Gardens next to it. There was a lone chair there, and I figured I should pose for a picture. The full size image is here. images/Drawings/Sketches/bard-college-sm.jpg
