[And if it can't get high-fives by love, it will get them through fear!] I was in a bank today talking about a business account. The bank person walked out of the office to get a printout and I was staring at the stand that was design to hold two screens but only had one. One 'arm' had a screen mounted on it that was facing the person behind the desk. The other arm had a flat mounting plate where a monitor could go and was sort of parallel to the desk. As I looked at it more, it looked like some sort of high-five device so that the manager could interact with the customers and say things like, "Dude, look at all the interest you got! High five!" but not have to actually touch the filthy hands of the filthy customers. And that put me in the mind of a single-purpose robot that was built so that people could high-five it. So I started to draw it while I was waiting and finished it outside of the office but while still in the bank.

The articulation of the arm was copied from the display stand. As an afterthought, I gave it what was intended to be something that looked like a baseball cap being worn backwards. Perhaps I might make a series called Bro-bots. We'll see. images/Drawings/Sketches/high-five-bot.png
