[Call before midnight tonight, operators are standing by, cash only, in small unmarked bills!] I was at the San Francisco airport, waiting for my suitcase, and noticed one of the ads that a screen was cycling through, along with some local brand of local pre-made Indian food, and some other stuff. After seeing it for the the 4th or 5th time, I figured I should take a picture of it.

I know nothing about this college, but when seeing the equivalent of a mail-order degree from a for-profit school that has degrees in Spiritual Psychology, Dream Studies, and Transpersonal Ecopsychology, plus MBAs, next to Computer Science and "cybersecurity", my bullshit meter pegs AND it makes me start to question the legitimacy of my field. Also, whenever I hear the word "cyber" and it's not referring to either The Terminator or The Six Million Dollar Man, then the person's had a dangerous exposure to marketing. Oh, the bad guys in Battle Star Galactica would also probably be OK. In any case, it made me realize how much of a fad computer security (which includes their networks too) is and think about how much snake oil and charlatans are out there.

I edited the photo to make the text readable in the red text callout. images/Photos/worthless-degree.png
