[I liked both speakers, so I've got nothing obnoxious to say.] DFRWS-US 2025 was last week. We had two keynote speakers, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday. Both were quite good. The first gave a talk at the first DFRWS in 2001 (Eoghan and I were there) and he gave a keynote like 10 years ago or so. The second is a former procecutor who admits he looks like George Lucas and Michael McDonald. Both talks were good. As I'm wont to do, I drew a quick sketch of both of them. I actually took notes during the talks so I didn't have time to do any real silly stuff with the sketch. In fact, the sketches are pretty sparse. It's hard to tell that the one on the left has his palm up and his it's his thumb that's visible and the other fingers curling in front of it are not distinct. The hands on the one on the right are crappy. Not my best work, but I was actaully paying attention to what they were saying. So here are both of them in one picture. The full size image is here. Also note that I generally avoid naming people that I sketch in the text here. Sure, Google and AI programs can do handwriting analysis, but it's unlikely to show up very high on any searches. images/Drawings/Sketches/keynotes-2025-sm.png
