We visitied Castle Rising in Castle Rising, Norfolk. It was built around 1140, and later was the home of Queen Isabella after she lost power released by her son in 1331-1358. It's mostly in ruins now, though some of the rooms still exist. It is currently owned by the Howard family (no relation, as far as I know, to the Three Stooges).

I don't know what kind of plane it was nor where it was going to or coming from. And I had my wide angle lens on at the time, so this was the best shot I could get. Alas. 020-DSC_0207: "Sure, go ahead and complain…once you're 900 years old and made of stone." 021-DSC_0208: 022-Castle_Rising_Panorama2: 023-DSC_0211: 024-DSC_0212: 025-DSC_0213: A view out the window from inside Castle Rising. 026-DSC_0214: Information on: “The Great Hall — the heart of the castle.” 027-DSC_0215: The remains of the Great Hall, without the floors or roof. 028-DSC_0216: Stephanie on an upper walkway around the Great Hall in Castle Rising. Note the yellow sign in this picture. 034-DSC_0222: Part of the castle where the rooms are still intact. 035-DSC_0223: The text reads: Early Norman Church. This was built in the late 11th century, before the castle was here. It lost its ecclesiastical role when the castle banks were errected. 036-DSC_0224: In the remains of the Norman chapel. 037-DSC_0226: The eastern wall of Castle Rising with the sun behind the castle. 038-DSC_0225: The sun shines through the eastern castle where I stand.
