It was a really nice day today so I decided to try to take a
few pictures of some fall colors. I went to Stewart Park at the base
of Cayuga Lake, then to a wooded trail near where I live, and for
good measure took a few pictures of a backhoe in my back yard at the end.

There were people at Stewart Park but it wasn't super-crowded. Mostly small groups by benches or tables. 000-cayuga_lake_Panorama: Panoramic photo of Cayuga Lake from Stewart Park looking north. 001-DSC_4552: A seagull, pretty common around here. 002-DSC_4553: A bit of nice fall colors looking to the east. I quite like this picture. 003-DSC_4554: Colorful trees on the west side of Cayuga Lake. 004-DSC_4555: Looking at the east side of Cayuga Lake. Totally different light than the last shot. It kind of looks like a 1970s era picture. 005-DSC_4556-header: Woods around the Village of Lansing 005-DSC_4556-headertext:
There are a number of trails connecting various streets. I walked in a wooded area, though by that point it was getting pretty overcast. So no sunset pictures (eventually it started raining later on). 005-DSC_4556: A bit of woods with colors. 006-DSC_4557: Getting towards some silhouette action. 007-DSC_4558: The tree was sideways relative to me, looking up. 008-DSC_4559: Doesn't everyone think telephone poles are cool? 009-DSC_4560: Looking more baren as the path opens up. 010-DSC_4561: Barren trees on a sky growing grey. 011-DSC_4563: A few bright red leaves are left. 012-DSC_4564: More bright red leaves. 013-DSC_4565: It was in the 70s today (20s in °C) yet somehow there are hints that another season is lurking out there. 014-DSC_4566: A place where there's a stream, sometimes. Not today. 015-DSC_4567: The path that is surprisingly barren of leaves. 016-DSC_4568-header: Meanwhile...Back Home, Backhoe! 016-DSC_4568-headertext:
I wanted these more for reference pictures if I ever want to draw one, but it was weird seeing it right behind my place. 016-DSC_4568: I think the backhoe was there to work on the drainage. 017-DSC_4569: A nice view of the backhoe. 018-DSC_4570: The view from my patio. 019-DSC_4571: The view from my back door. My 55mm lens makes it look a little closer than it is, but it did look pretty close.
