The trip from Munich to Frankfurt, plus a bit near the hotel.
I took the train from Munich to Frankfurt and checked into a hotel
near the airport. I didn't do much other than walking around the area
a little and getting some food at a nearby grocery store (it was
just a grocery store, I didn't take pictures there).
006-IMG_20230329_052908856: On the train from Munich to Frankfurt.
007-IMG_20230329_062544491: A little town near the railroad enroute.
008-IMG_20230329_062557185: A soccer ("football") field, perhaps
for a high school along the way.
009-IMG_20230329_062617794_HDR: The little towns kind of interested me.
010-IMG_20230329_062619588: One tall church steeple for the town.
012-IMG_20230329_071033744_HDR: A fair-sized town, I've no idea where
exactly.
IMG_20230329_074406930: Approaching the train station at the Frankfurt
airport (Frankfurt Am Main Flughafen Fernbahnhof, for short).
IMG_20230329_074420523: Hey, there were a bunch of workers standing on
the roof of that building.
IMG_20230329_075435092_HDR: Getting into the rail yard. There are a lot
of tracks there.
IMG_20230329_075438233_HDR: More trains and tracks, and I still don't know
how to hold the phone camera.
IMG_20230329_112206816_HDR: The Green Man is a scuplture in the
Gateway Gardens area by the airpot. I think it relates to the reunification
of Germany (I didnt take a picture of the plaque).
Addendum: Bez points out that it's
an "Ampelmännchen"
(little traffic light man).
These are the figures that appear in the "Walk" signs for
pedestrian crosswalks. It was created in East Germany and is one of
the few features of East Germany that remained after the reunification.
IMG_20230329_112536163: Lots of model planes in the window of Lufthansa.
IMG_20230329_112555495: Even more planes!
IMG_20230329_165100151: I have no idea what this is on the bottom of a table
in my hotel room.
Addendum: Another response from Bez:
The under-table device is very curious. If it's not a weird Stasi
Ostalgie thing, some sort of weird lift mechanism?
