We visited the Aquinnah Cliffs (formerly called Gay Head Cliffs) and the Lighthouse there. In 2015, the lighthouse was moved 134 feet back, away from the eroding cliff edge. The cliffs are clay based and very colorful. The lighthouse itself was closed to the public though we could walk around the outside. On the other side of the parking lot was a trail that went to the beach where the cliffs are. The beach pictures are in the next section. 000-aquinnah_beach_Panorama: View (looking south-west-ish) of the beach from the overlook area. 000a-aquinnah_water1_Panorama: View (looking more west-ish) from the overlook. The images didn't blend properly, so I didn't spend much time cleaing it up. It's still interesting, if flawed. 001-aquinnah_lighthouse1_Panorama-2: The Gay Head Lighthouse was moved a bit back from the cliffs a few years ago. 002-aquinnah_lighthouse2_Panorama: Another view of the Gay Head Lighthouse. 003-aquinnah_lighthouse_Panorama-2: A view of Gay Head or Aquinnah Cliffs and the lighthouse from the overlook. 005-DSC_4779: Gay Head Lighthouse: White light. 006-DSC_4781: Gay Head Lighthouse: Red light (timing is everything). 007-DSC_4782: "Quickly chum, To the cliffs!" 008-DSC_4793: Marlene looking at the cliffs. 009-DSC_4794: The lighthouse and the cliffs. 010-DSC_4800: Information on the Legend of Moshup with the lighthouse in the background. 011-DSC_4801: A plaque stating Gay Had Cliffs is a Registered National Landmark. 012-DSC_4806: Marlene, staying on the Marked Trail To The Lighthouse.
