Subtitle: Outdoors on Martha's Vineyard in Mid-October, 2023
Here are some pictures around the cottag as well as a hike by
Sepiessa Point on the south side of Martha's Vineyard.
This was around October 12-15, 2023.
Some pictures of and near the cottage, as well as 2 shots from the Farmer's Market. 001-DSC_7411: A cozy cottage at sunset. 002-DSC_7415: The porch at the end of the day. 003-DSC_7412: Some sunset shots from the porch. 004-DSC_7414: A slightly different exposure on the sunset. 005-DSC_7413: And a still darker sunset picture from the porch. 006-DSC_7462: A view of the left side of the porch. 007-DSC_7466: A view of the right side of the porch. 008-DSC_7465: The Adirondack-ish chairs on the porch. 009-DSC_7467: The Lagoon Pond in the distance and stream in the foreground. 010-DSC_7469: A hot sauce place at the Farmer's Market. 011-DSC_7470: Their assortment of NotFrank hot sauces. 012-DSC_7553: The brief Doug's Cove trail that ends at a Lagoon Pond beach. 013-DSC_7554: Tall reeds on the trail. 014-DSC_7555: Tall reeds on the edge of Doug's Cove trail. 015-DSC_7556: White seeds agaist a clear mid-October blue sky day on the Doug's Cove trail. 016-DSC_7557: More white plants against a blue sky on Doug's Cove trail. 017-DSC_7558: The cottage from the trail. 018-DSC_7560: Another view of the cottage from the trail. 019-DSC_7563: A map of the area. Sepiessa Point Reservation is a Land Bank trail on one of the various fingerlike coves that connect to the Tisbury Great Pond on the south end of Martha's Vineyard. 023-Sepiessa_Panorama2: A panoramic shot looking east at Tississa Pond between Tiah's Cove and Deep Botton Cove. To the right is Tisbury Great Pond. 024-DSC_7422: Marlene and Frank with Tiah's Cove in the background. 025-DSC_7424: Lichen on a fallen branch in the light. 026-DSC_7426: The sunlight made the white tops of the reeds glow. It was striking. 027-DSC_7427: I liked the reflection of the reeds and the framing at the top and bottom. 028-DSC_7439: The pine cone and wild mushroom were one of the few reminders it was fall. 029-DSC_7442: The backlighting sunlight made the leave glow. 030-DSC_7443: I took the road less traveled (and it let north to the parking lot). 031-DSC_7445: Just a sign. Alsom, it was a very nice day. 032-DSC_7446: ♫One (well two) of these things are not like the others…♫ 033-DSC_7447: This sign baffled me. It's pretty obvious it's not there to inform people that the famous Martha's Vineyard Beach Horses are no longer there, frolicking in the sand and water, since I just made them up. But if they're telling people that they shouldn't have their horses walk down the stairs to the beach below, well…take a look at the next picture of the beach… 034-DSC_7448: It's a nice little beach, but you couldn't fit a horse let alone horses on the beach. And it's low tide! (See previous picture for horse comment context.) 035-DSC_7450: I like the text of the light and shadows on the waves. 036-DSC_7451: Looking east on the no-horse-beach by the Tisbury Gret Pond. 037-DSC_7452: Marlene on the beach steps by the Tisbury Great Pond. 038-DSC_7453: Marlene looking out from the beach steps to the Tisbury Great Pond. 039-DSC_7454: A business jet on final approach to Runway 06 at the MVY airport passes overhead. 040-DSC_7455: Another shot of a business jet heading to the MVY airport. 041-DSC_7456: The vegetation off trail from the beach. 042-DSC_7457: Taking a step back, the off-trail vegetation while standing on the narrow beach. 043-DSC_7459: Moss or lichen growing in a footprint lit by a sunbeam. 044-DSC_7516: A map of this hike.
