Hey, our 2022 Fall Ultimate Frisbee League has started. I took
some pictures during the first game. And Katie took some also.
And then I took some pictures of a real cool looking almost full
pumpkin orange moon!

The start of the first game of Fall League 2022. Because a a USAU Sectionals game was the next 2 days, a number of people weren't playing in that game (to avoid getting hurt or just tired before a club game) as well as the usual number of people who might miss a game in any given week. So we had one game with a 4:3 M:F ratio which was good. Thanks to Katie for taking the pictures in this section! I handed off my camera to Katie as I joined the game. She took a bunch of pictures with some good action shots (given that it was a somewhat low-key game. It was getting darker out and the lights were on. I believe it was Kat that pointed out to the rest of us that the
almost full moon was rising and it was a creepy, deep orange color.
(The moon was full the following night.). I said I thought it looked
really cool and wistfully added, "it's too bad my camera isn't
here." When someone asked where it was, I said, "over there on the the
sideline, but who's got time for that now?" I was hoping that it would
be a quick point and the moon would still be low on the horizon and
orange, so I could take some pictures of it.
And it was, and it was, and I did!
Oh, and technically it's a Harvest Moon and wasn't quite blood
colored. But it was still sort of ominous and felt like it deserved
blood in the description.
028-DSC_5749: Madness, madness, what is this madness?
I tried to take a picture of the moon but the manual setting was left from the
Perseids photos, which was for a 30 second exposure. After a second
or two I realized the shutter was still open, moving the lens around and
eventually turning off the camera to cancel it. I thought it looked kind
of cool.

visible on the left side of the moon.
030-DSC_5755: Halftime and the dark team take a break under the light
of the rising orange moon.
031-DSC_5758: The almost full moon with its creepy Harvest Moon colors.
032-DSC_5760: Katie and Emily M. attempt to capture the moon.
033-DSC_5761: Katie catches the moon, but Emily M makes sure she does
not drop it. I didn't filter the moon's brightness since I liked the
look of the bright ball of orange energy and how it looks like it's
illuminating them.
