A sign (both sides) on the outskirts of Boulder, talking about the area.

The scenery on a pull-off just west of Boulder heading towards Nederland. Ah, I just looked it up, it's the Boulder Creek Path.

The Boulder Creek which the path follows, and a shot of the rocks and hills in the area.

A close up of the rocks. Note that it was pretty damp, overcast, and somewhat icky that day.

There's a cool, old aqueduct that runs beneath "Maxwell Pitch." Two shots of it and a sign explaining what it is.

A shot of the Boulder Creek path with the aqueduct running along it, and two of the Boulder Creek. Even though it was misty or raining, there were a few people I saw running and biking on the path.

A few more shots of the meadow and hillside that was by the path.

I took a few shots of the clouds along the tops of the hills that were across the way from the trail (I guess that would be looking to the south as the trail runs east/west). I tried some different exposure settings (darker photo).

A few shots of some plants along the path. The round-thing had a cool purple color with some water-drops on it (since it was raining off and on). The flower was quite pretty.

A few shots of a cactus growing at the base of the rocks. There were small cactus like this all around. Something I'm not used to seeing.

I noticed a spider web had been catching some raindrops and tried to get a picture of it. It's always tricky getting a camera to focus on something that small, even if it has some decent macro-like capability. There were some sort of berry-like berries on the plants. No idea if it's edible, and I didn't feel like being a guinea pig.

Another shot of the creek with some plants in the foreground. While walking, I noticed a nest of ... something in the rock. I saw some insect crawling into it, but didn't notice what it was. And then I didn't see any activity. I was not stupid enough to generate some activity. The nest looked about watermellon size. And as I was walking back, I noticed someone by the creek fly-fishing. I don't know if I've ever seen someone doing that before. I only watched a little while and he didn't catch anything in the minute or two I was there.

And finally, a couple shots of the top of the hill that was across from the trail.

The downtown area is fun. One area has various sorts of animals. I took two shots using the self-timer. I was cut-off in the first one. I would have retried it, however, the moment I sat down on the stone rabbit, I realized it was a wet stone rabbit, and now my butt was wet (remember, it had been raining all day). That made it less fun. So I tried again with the bronze toad, but this time I leaned forward, since I was wearing a waterproof jacket (in an inconspicuous shade of orange and yellow). And yes, other animal options include a snail and a beaver.

A fwe shots of the valley, looking west towards the mountains. There's a small rouad that weaves its way down there.

A few views of the grassy areas looking west towards the mountains. The clouds were low (did I mention the rain?).

A final shot looking back towards Highway 93 heading north to Boulder.
