The front of the Scottish monument, showing a family of new immigrants, proudly facing the opportunities of the New World. The father of the clan, dressed in all the traditional dressings is in front, flanked by a younger man and woman, perhaps sons and daughters or maybe not. The woman carries an infant, a first generation American. Behind her is a younger girl, somehow connected to the family, but even the plaque didn't know if she was a sister, daughter or what. Plus, there's a big dog next to the man in front (a Deerhound). To be honest, I would have expected a "nae' so wee" Scotty dog.
