Judson and I walked from the DFRWS hotel to the National Mall area and took pictures of the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the World War II Memorial, and (from a distance) the Jefferson Memorial. While the reflecting pool is betweeen all of that, it was actually not present. It was fenced off, with heavy equipment in the area, and all the water had been drained, as part of its "rehabilitation". I hope it gets time off for good behavior. It was at night, but the area is well lit and the white marble is probably more striking against a dark night sky.
