Ithaca Falls, Treman Park, and Stewart Park in Fall

My friends Moof and Jen stopped by to visit on October 25, 2007. We stopped by Ithaca Falls and then hiked around Treman Park. It had rained the previous day, so there was nice waterfall action and some decent fall colors.

Ithaca Falls

Our first stop was Ithaca Falls. It had rained the day before so there was a lot of water going over hte falls. The water, the thunderous sound, the fall colors and blue sky made it quite impressive.

The first two shots are from a little ways back, the third is much closer to the ends. The large amount of water on the right side of the third picture was pretty close.

Moof and Jen were looking at something up in the sky, pehraps a bird, or maybe a plane, or...

While there, some people were stacking stones in a hollow area in a tree, kind of in an Andy Goldsworthy sort of way. I didn't get a picture of that. Closer to the falls was a stone cairn. I took two shots of that, one without a flash and one with a flash.

Robert Treman State Park

Then onward ot Treman Park. We went to the Upper Falls trail. Unfortunately, it was late enough in the day that a lot of the gorge and waterfalls were not getting great light. It's still an impressive place.

Stewart Park

And finally, we stopped at Stewart Park. We sat on a bench and watched the colors as the sun set and the geese and ducks swam by.

A few shots of geese as they passsed us by. The sky was kind of orange and the water was getting dark, though there was enough light to reflect the geese off the water. The shots are, unfortunately, a bit blurry.
