Dinner in New Orleans, Louisianna

I was in New Orleans for the weekend. On Saturday, June 25, 2005, Golden and I had a typical food fest along with a few friends. One had a camera, so we could document some of the bloat-worthy stuff.

The house special that night was black drum fish with fried zucchini skins and a kick-ass salad that included cinnamon coated peacans. Of course, wine was included in the meal.

Dessert was two scoops of ice cream (one of cherry vanilla and one of strawberry), garnished with a baby bananna, blueberries, dried cranberries, sprinkled with a cinnamon-nut dust. Pretty fucking awesome.

As the sous-chef, I assisted the fish and made the salad and dessert.

The meal earned the much-coveted doesn't suck rating from Golden and me.

Lunch in New Orleans

I was back down in New Orleans and Golden and I whipped up a quick lunch on Sunday August 6, 2006.

On the menu was pesto with spinach linguini and shrimp, garlic bread, and some fresh fruit with cheese (aged gouda and ... something else). Below are two views of the dishes.

It was pretty easy to make. Golden made the main dish, and I did the sides. Once again, we agreed that it didn't suck.

Bon Appetit!
