A Winter Day in January 2023

I took a walk around my neighborhood on Monday January 23, 2023. We got around 4-5 inches of snow the previous day and the trees looked neat with the branches coated with snow. I took a few pictures. Here are the highlights.

The trees by my apartment all with a thick coat of frosting, er, snow.

The stream had provided a nice contrast to the white snow.

The woods area is pretty barren in the winter.

Even the looming trees can't loom as well in the middle of winter.

Either another stream or the ground is smiling.

That's a little better winter tree-looming along the path.

The open areas felt pretty empty.

The sky was gray (typical Ithaca Winter day) which adds to the emptiness effect.

Dark vertical and horizontal branches lines with white snow everywhere else.

A pond nearby. I was getting cold and didn't want to stay much longer.

Even though it's a suburban neighborhood, the snow covered fence felt pastoral.

Some sort of poison-berry tree I assume.
