Pacific Northwest Trip: Seattle, WA
The Great Pacific Northwest Adventure started in Seattle. I
was there for the DFRWS conference. I was in Seattle from August 7-11,
2016. Other than doing DFRWS-related things, I explored the Seattle
Central Library a bit, went to Pike Place Market, and walked to the
Space Needle. I also caught up with my grad school friend Neel.

Seattle Central Library
The Seattle Central Library is a neat place. The
architecture kicks ass and was designed by Rem Koolhaas. It is a
very cool house.

Pike Place Market and Vicinity
Pike Place Market is a large are that is a farmer's
market and lots of other stuff, stores, shops, restaurants, that's by the
water, Elliott Bay, that opens into Puget Sound. I wandered around there
for a bit, both with Neel and my last day in Seattle.

The Space Needle
The Space Needle is probably the most
recognizable and iconic structure in and of Seattle. The area around it
has various musuem-like things, including the EMP (music and science-fiction)
and a Chihuly Garden and Glass. I walked around the area a bit, though I
didn't go inside any of the buildings.
