Brisbane
The City Botanic Gardens
The day after the DFRWS conference, I ran a few errands (postcards,
gifts, snacks), tried to avoid the angry midday sun (max UV index
of 11, which is EXTREME! though it can get higher than that).
In the mid to late afternoon, I went to the City Botanic Gardens, which
consists of a large park with fountains, walking paths, gardens that
include collections of unusual species, and more. It's in the Central
Business Distict (i.e., central downtown) and is bordered by the Brisbane
River, and the Queensland University of Technology.
I spent some time wandering around the park when I had
enough "downtown time".
It was a bright sunny day out, so I played with some different exposure
levels to see what looked best, especially with the water glittering
in the fountains.
