Frank's Sketchbook Entry of the Day

OK...when I said I don't know what the Violent Femmes look like for yesterday's sketch of the Violent Phlegms, I really meant I'm not familiar with the group and I don't really know how to draw them. I did pull up an image of them to see if there was anything really distinctive and found the answer was "not really." I did a quick sketch of them, so I'd have something to work with when I changed the Femmes into the Phlegms (and in fact I added a mohawk to one of them). So this was the pencil-sketch, which is more just generic people performing on stage, so I'd have a sense of what a drum set looks like and the lights. The guitar and bass aren't visible enough to get a good version. I kept the hat on the bass player, the drum set, the lights, the 2 amplifiers, and the metal structure the lights are on. I dropped the audience (I figured it'd just distract from the main subject). I figured since I had the sketch, I might as well put it up here just for kicks. Probably best to click on the image above to view it on a completely white background to at least see what it looks like.
OK...this is the picture that I used as a source reference. I took considerable liberties for both simplicity and layout reasons.
