Julienned Zucchini "Pasta"
  [fake spaghetti]

January 09, 2013

Another experiment with cooking. I bought a julienne peeler, which looks like a carrot peeler with jagged teeth. And then I julienned 2 green zucchini and one yellow one. It was quite easy. I warmed some pasta sauce I had, threw in the zucchini strips, and instant dinner. I topped it with some freshly grated cheese, a bit of lettuce I had, and an Isreali salad I made (hey, I had za'atar lying around and needed to use it somewhere, before the glottal stops got to me.

It tasted pretty good, but no one is going to mistake it for pasta. Similarly, I like portobello mushrooms, but no one is going to misteak them for steak. I had two SB-800 flashes, one on either side, both in 'remote' mode, just for fun. I would have preferred to keep the focus a little closer to the front. I suppose I could have just closed the shutter more.

Anyway, it was pretty yummy. Thanks to Pam for the suggestion of the julienne peeler.

I tend to doodle. Over the years, I've accumulated lots of random sketches of things, sometimes people, sometimes things, and sometimes just abstract lines. The basic idea on these pages is for me to slowly scan in highlights from my collection of random quick doodles. I also am providing a place where I can explain what it is or what motivated it or perhaps some reason why I'm not to blame. With the sketches of people, their name may be hand-written, or there might be a talk title provided, but I will tend to avoid providing full names. I don't mind if people know who they are, I just don't want them coming up on search engine hits, since that might be a bit rude.

Note that the images are PNGs with transparency. Mozilla and Firefox properly render them. Safari too, I think. Internet Exporer doesn't. I don't care.
If you want to see the image without the annoying blue-lined background image, just click on the image.
