The Helsfyr District in Oslo
The conference I attended was in the Helsfyr District. Yes, that's
Hell's Fire or just Hellfire district. I don't know why...it's a Viking
thing, I guess. After Stephanie left, I took a bus from the city center
to Helsfyr where I stayed in the Scandic hotel. It was nice and they
followed the tradition of impressive Norwegian breakfasts. The conference,
DFRWS-EU, was held in the Norwegian National Criminal Investigation Service
(KRIPOS) building, which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. It's
a very pleasant walk that goes through the Østre gravlund (east graveyard).
In one area there are many, many tombstones stacked against a building.
The dates are all over the place. I don't know if they're there for
restoration, relocation, or what. It was odd. Maybe it's another Viking
thing I wouldn't understand.
I took a few pictures the first and last days I was there.

The dates had a wide range, from maybe 10-20 years ago to
many decades earlier.
